Parents and children going through some of the hardest times in their lives need a little hope and relief from everyday reality, and that’s exactly what we aim to provide with Toyshed.

Toyshed was born out of the desire to see families enjoy their Christmas time, rather than be burdened with expense or sadness when santa didn’t show up on Christmas day.

The community of Stevenage has fully gotten behind our passion to help families in our community, and we’re now able to offer Toyshed all year round – covering birthdays too.

This is more than just giving children toys – it’s about enabling parents to give gifts to their own children, be it for birthdays or Christmas. It’s a space for support workers to give families a little bit of ‘normal’ when children have had to leave all of their belongings behind. It’s a place for families to feel completely blessed and valued with brand new toys that they might otherwise not be able to afford.

How to get involved?

We take donations of brand new toys all year round – we’re especially in need of things for under 2 year olds and teenagers – and although it’s called ‘toy’shed it can be anything that those children would like as a gift, be it headphones, toiletries or anything else you can think of too!

You can bring them to us at The Vineyard Centre – please check our ‘Contact Us’ page for details and opening times. We also have an Amazon wishlist here.
